Are you having a great time following along with the Building Block Dress book tour? We're thrilled to hear that you enjoy hearing from the inspiring creatives we feature. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Lauren, whose talent shone through when she competed in the first season of The Great British Sewing Bee, making it all the way to the final. Lauren visited our blog last year, and we're delighted to have her joining us again for this tour.

I'm a mom to an adorable 5-month-old girl, and I live in Moseley, a charming suburb in South Birmingham (UK). It's such a lovely area, with tree-lined streets and everything I could need just a short walk away. I even live right next to my shop, which I think of as a giant fabric stash that I get to share with everyone. I adore my shop, but ever since I was a child, I've been drawn to the haberdashery department at Liberty of London, where I would marvel at their stunning fabrics.

I recently completed my third winter coat, and I believe it's my best one yet! I can't wait for colder weather so I can start wearing it. For this project, I used the Closet Case Patterns Clare coat pattern and some exquisite smokey pink ex-designer wool. As my daughter, Sophia, grows older, I'm looking forward to creating more cute outfits for her. I received so many gifts when she was born that I haven't had to buy or sew much for her so far.

Don't forget to check out Guthrie & Ghani's workshop schedule for a complete list of their upcoming workshops, including dates and pricing details.

We'll be back on Friday with another exciting participant in our book tour.

As someone who loves sewing and fashion, Lauren's journey has always fascinated me. Her ability to create such beautiful garments, especially for children, is truly inspiring. I often find myself scrolling through her Instagram feed, admiring her latest creations and getting ideas for my own projects. It's always exciting to see what she comes up with next.

Living in Moseley sounds like a dream. The idea of having everything within walking distance and being surrounded by such a vibrant community is something I deeply appreciate. Plus, the proximity to her shop must be fantastic—imagine being able to pop in anytime and explore new fabrics!

For anyone interested in sewing or fashion design, Lauren's work is definitely worth exploring. Whether you're a seasoned sewer or just starting out, her designs offer something unique and inspiring. And if you ever get the chance to attend one of her workshops, I highly recommend it. Learning directly from someone with her level of expertise would be invaluable.

In the meantime, I'll continue following the book tour and seeing what other talented individuals we'll meet along the way. Each participant brings something fresh and exciting to the table, making this tour a delightful experience for all involved.
