New version of eco-textile certification standards to expand the scope of testing

The 2012 version of the Oeko-Tex standard 100 was launched on January 3. Compared with the 2011 version, the new standard added two new detection items for organic solvent residues and surfactant residues, and proposed limits. Among them, organic solvent residues include: NMP (1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and DMAc (N,N-dimethylacetamide). Surfactant residues mainly refer to: octylphenol (OP), nonylphenol (NP), total octylphenol (1-2) polyoxyethylene ether OP (EO) 1-2, total nonylphenol (1-9 ) Polyoxyethylene ether NP (EO) 1-9. Starting from January 2012, the above new test substances and their limit values ​​are added to the Oeko-Tex assessment list. Certificate holders must implement the new test before April 1, 2013. Claim. The newly proposed limits for these two types of chemicals are: NMP: 1000 ppm; DMAc: 1000 ppm; NP: 100 ppm; OP: 100 ppm; NP (EO) 1-9: 1000 ppm; OP (EO) 1-2: 1000 ppm.
