RRD's future development plans focus on two aspects: on the one hand, it will increase the proportion of women's wear in the product line, and on the other hand, it will further study the development of the Asian market to better expand the brand's influence on a global scale.

Roberto Ricci, founder and creative director of the company, said in an interview with the Italian media MF Fashion: "In 1981, when I was a young man, I began to have a strong interest in the windsurfing project. I have a special passion for the sea. This love has turned into my real career choice in a few years. I am very happy that with my craft and my love for this project, I can launch such a sports equipment product on the market, even though this sport is not Many people are familiar with it."

So in 1989, in collaboration with Roberto Ricci and his friend Roberto Bardini, RRD came into being in Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy, and Maui, Maui, Hawaii. The first product launched by RRD is the windsurfing board, which is hand-designed and produced, and gradually began to equip the world's top athletes. The company also began to design and manufacture surf shorts and T-shirts, and gradually expanded its business to the design, production and sales of technology sportswear, combining the latest technology of textiles with strong Italian style, and is a sporting hobby all over the world. They bring a dual experience of performance and aesthetics. At present, the RRD business covers the development, design, production and sales of men's and women's sportswear, as well as the development, design, production and sales of sports equipment such as surfing kites, surfing, windsurfing and other water sports.

Today, about 85% of RRD's revenue comes from sales of products in Italy. Since 2000, RRD has participated in the Pitti Immagine Uomo menswear show every year. In recent years, RRD has entered the German and Spanish markets. In 2016, it opened about 200 branded stores and has a good sales performance. In the future, RRD will focus on strengthening product distribution in the Asian market, especially to strengthen branding in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean markets to expand brand influence.

RRD currently has independent brand stores in Rome, Castiglioncello, Milano Marittima and Marina di Pietrasanta in Italy. In December 2015, the company brought the concept of surfing technology customization to South Africa and opened a flagship store in Cape Town near the Cape of Good Hope. Roberto Ricci said: “The flagship store in Cape Town is arguably the best embodiment of the blend of Italian and African cultures. For RRD, the wave of cultural blending has never ceased to exist since its inception. Founded by the fusion of Italian culture and Hawaiian culture, African culture will now inject more vitality into our brand."

Although the current data has not been disclosed, RRD has shown full confidence in the sales performance in 2017, and sales in the first half of the year are expected to reach 22 million euros. Roberto Ricci stressed: “We will focus on the development of wholesale channels to achieve a 25% increase in wholesale revenue during the year. We will also focus on the development of the 2017/18 Fall/Winter collection for men and women, given the advantages of combining Lycra and wool fabrics. And with the latest technology, this series of products will have a strong tensile stretch, when we will be shooting large-scale advertising in South Africa.
