Vietnam increased imports of 186,000 metric tons of cotton in the first half of the year by 9.82%

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, Vietnam imported 26,800 metric tons of cotton in June 2010, the import amount was 50.2 million US dollars, and Vietnam imported 186,000 tons of cotton in the first six months of the previous year. The amount of imports reached 311.50 million U.S. dollars, and the import volume and import amount increased by 9.82% and 28.38% respectively over the same period of last year.

The main import sources of Vietnam's products for the previous year were the United States ($106 million) and India ($76.8 million), up 6.17% and 1,752.73% respectively over the same period of last year. In addition, Vietnam imported its top products from countries such as Indonesia and Italy in the first six months of this year, which represented a decline of 74.4% and 44.64% respectively from the same period of last year.
